We are looking for one to two part- time Independent Living Specialist for the Ashland and Bayfield
High school diploma or equivalency and must be 18 years of age or older. Personal experience or have worked with persons who have a disability. Commitment to the Independent Living Philosophy. Knowledge of Recovery philosophy gained through education, training, work, volunteering and/or lived experience. Have the skills and competence to establish supportive, trusting relationships with persons living with a disability. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality of consumer information. Ability to set and maintain personal and professional boundaries. Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and time management skills. Have strong computer/data entry skills and ability to document case notes/contacts. Ability to meet with consumers in their communities in Ashland & Bayfield Counties. An insured vehicle and valid driver’s license available for daily use or ability to arrange own transportation required.
II. JOB SUMMARY:
The Independent Living Specialist will promote consumer directed services to persons with mental health disabilities and/or substance use disorder in Ashland & Bayfield Counties who are referred through the Comprehensive Community Support (CCS) programs. The Skills Trainer will work with other team members to help consumers work toward achieving goals in their recovery plan. Based on referrals from Ashland & Bayfield County Comprehensive Community Support (CCS) programs.
